Hey, beauties! I have the perfect, cheap manicure for you today! I know we all love having our nails on point! I mean who wants to snap the most perfect picture & then notice that your nails are horrid! #Notme
On Pinterest I stumbled across this post from Let’s Talk About Lipstick! http://letstalkaboutlipstick.blogspot.com/2014/07/diy-gel-manicure-with-no-lamp.html I quickly checked it out, becuase honestly! I love a great mani but I love a cheap one too! & I want it to last!
I am in love with perfectly polished nails but I don’t have the luxury of running to the salon every two weeks to get my nails done. & Normally polish chips pretty fast for me. Between cleaning, dishes, washing my hands, typing nonstop, taking out the dogs, and washing my hands again, they take a beating.
So after a trip to Sally’s Beauty I had my supplies and tired it that day! I was amazed with how professional & shiny my nails looked! But of course I was skeptical. Was this too good to be true?
But with this method I was impressed. My busy hands held up well! No chips in 7 days! Now keeping the same polish color for 7 days was a struggle!
For this method you just need a bottle of American Classics GELOUS Advanced Nail Gel Coat, a base coat, any polish of your choice & a top coat. I prefer Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out! It has a gorgeous shine & does dry fast! So I highly suggest when you pick yourself up a bottle of GELOUS you grab this too! & The Seche Vite Dry Fast Base Coat! That rocks too! I use these three in all my manicures now!
So to recap quick, what you need:
American Classics GELOUS Advanced Nail Gel Coat
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat (Or top coat of your choice)
Seche Vite Dry Fast Base Coat (or base coat of your choice)
& a polish color that you can live with for 7 full days!
Here's what you do:
Step 1 | make sure your nails are bare and don't have any oils or lotions on them. If you want to moisturize or rub a cuticle oil in beforehand, make sure you take a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover and carefully remove any residue from nails before you apply your first coat of polish.
Step 2 | apply a very thin coat of base polish. Make sure you wait at least 45 seconds before you apply your step 3.
Step 3 apply a very thin coat of Gelous to nails. Make SURE you wait at least 45 seconds before you apply your nail polish.
Step 4 | apply a very thin coat of the nail polish color of your choice (I used OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, a purpleish black color). Again, wait at least 45 seconds to dry.
Step 5 | apply another very thin coat of Gelous to nails. Wait 45 seconds to dry.
Step 6 | apply another thin coat of the nail polish color of your choice.
Step 7 | apply top coat of choice. Again, I used Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. Wait 45 seconds to dry.
Step 8 | apply one more coat of Gelous and let dry.
& That’s it! You’re done! No waiting under a UV light & no expensive check out! But still perfect, on point, picture worthy nails! I’ve also learned that if you want your manicure to look as great as day one that you should rub a good cuticle oil, coconut oil or olive oil into your cuticles daily to keep the skin around them soft & healthy. This will help the lifespan of any manicure!
When you try this mani be sure to post it on insta or facebook & tag me! I want to see your gorgeous manis!
PS: Removing this is as easy as any normal polish! Just a bottle of regular nail polish remover & some cotton balls!
